Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in accordance with federal, state, and NYC DOE regulations.
- Analyze behavioral data and use evidence-based practices to design, implement, and monitor interventions for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff regarding behavior management strategies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and administrators to support student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and reports in compliance with NYC DOE policies and ethical standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Engage families by providing education, resources, and behavioral strategies to support students across school and home settings.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- New York State licensure, where applicable.
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings, particularly students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of ABA methodologies, behavioral assessment techniques, and special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and data analysis skills.
