Be part of a vision for a healthier Mississippi as a traveling Nurse Practitioner with BlueHealth Mobile. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who will travel to the Mississippi Delta, Starkville, and Oxford areas on alternating weeks. All travel expenses, including hotels and mileage, are fully covered. This position will also be able to utilize a Company vehicle when available.

About the Role

This clinic lead role will provide comprehensive “well visit” assessments to new and existing patients who have BCBSMS coverage, collecting specimens, conducting laboratory testing, assisting with disease management, and monitoring treatment plans. Responsibilities

  • Acts as primary point of care for members without established relationships with a primary care provider.
  • Under the supervision of the Corporate Medical Director, develop a plan of care for each patient in the delivery of wellness services.
  • Follows best-in-class plan of care to manage metabolic and chronic risks, prescribing medication accordingly.
  • Provides educational counseling according to clinical best practice guidelines and coordinates referrals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • One year or more clinical experience functioning in the nurse practitioner role in a primary care setting.
  • Current certification as a nurse practitioner.
  • Eligible for or have certificate of fitness/prescription privileges.
  • Ability to travel during the day and overnight, as necessary.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel).
  • Confident communicator with a quick analytical thought process and the ability to listen actively, explain information clearly, and provide guidance in a tactful and persuasive manner.
  • Ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and professionally in written format, documenting and organizing work that demonstrates conformance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently in a lead role, effectively organizing tasks and time.
