About Fulfillment IQ (FIQ)

Fulfillment IQ is a supply chain engineering and transformation company that helps brands, retailers, and 3PLs design, build, and scale high-performance logistics operations. We work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology where we solve complex, real-world problems across warehouse design, automation, order management, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain execution. Our teams combine deep domain expertise with strong technical capability, delivering outcomes through consulting, systems implementation, and proprietary platforms that accelerate time-to-value and reduce delivery risk.

Role Overview

FIQ is seeking an experienced Blue Yonder WMS Consultant - Design / Techno-Functional Lead to support enterprise warehouse-management initiatives on a contract basis. This role will lead and support WMS discovery, requirements validation, solution design, design assurance, and stakeholder enablement. The consultant will work closely with business, operations, product, and technical stakeholders to translate warehouse requirements into scalable Blue Yonder WMS solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong warehouse-operational knowledge with hands-on Blue Yonder WMS expertise, preferably including recent Blue Yonder cloud releases. The consultant should be comfortable facilitating design workshops, challenging requirements and solution assumptions, reviewing functional and technical documentation, identifying gaps and dependencies, developing training materials, and guiding stakeholders through complex design decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support discovery, requirements-validation, and solution-design activities for Blue Yonder WMS engagements
  • Facilitate workshops covering inbound, inventory, outbound, returns, replenishment, value-added services, kitting, reporting, integrations, data, automation, and related warehouse processes
  • Assess current-state warehouse operations and translate business requirements into scalable future-state processes and system capabilities
  • Review existing WMS templates, configurations, process flows, and supporting documentation
  • Evaluate standard Blue Yonder functionality against business and operational requirements
  • Identify functional gaps, design risks, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and areas requiring further clarification
  • Develop, review, or validate Business Requirements Documents, Functional Solution Documents, functional specifications, process flows, decision logs, configuration workbooks, and related design artifacts
  • Confirm traceability between approved business requirements and the proposed functional solution
  • Provide techno-functional guidance related to WMS configuration, integrations, data, reporting, material-handling equipment, automation, and adjacent enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with integration, architecture, development, testing, product, and operational teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment
  • Evaluate product-enhancement or customization requests and document the associated business need, operational impact, expected outcome, and supporting rationale
  • Support the prioritization of solution gaps based on business value, operational impact, scalability, standardization, cost, and implementation risk
  • Review implementation plans, estimates, assumptions, resource requirements, dependencies, and proposed sequencing
  • Support design reviews, stakeholder walkthroughs, governance meetings, and executive readouts
  • Maintain clear documentation of decisions, actions, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and unresolved items
  • Advise stakeholders on warehouse-management best practices and relevant industry benchmarks
  • Identify opportunities for AI-assisted configuration, workflow automation, and accelerated WMS deployment, including prerequisites, dependencies, risks, and potential business value
  • Develop role-based training materials, facilitator guides, user guides, standard operating procedures, job aids, and knowledge-transfer documentation
  • Deliver train-the-trainer, super-user, end-user, and support-team training through virtual or instructor-led sessions
  • Support training-readiness planning and ensure training materials align with the approved solution design, configured processes, and operational procedures
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to functional consultants, business analysts, developers, trainers, and other delivery-team members when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of WMS consulting or implementation experience, including substantial hands-on experience with Blue Yonder WMS
  • Experience with recent Blue Yonder WMS cloud releases, preferably 2023 or newer, is strongly preferred
  • Experience serving as a Design Lead, Solution Lead, Functional Lead, or Techno-Functional Lead on enterprise WMS programs
  • Experience supporting multiple end-to-end WMS implementations, upgrades, migrations, rollouts, or template-development initiatives
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, including receiving, putaway, inventory management, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, value-added services, and kitting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design workshops and translate complex operational requirements into functional solution designs
  • Strong experience developing or reviewing BRDs, FSDs, functional specifications, process flows, configuration workbooks, test scenarios, and solution-design documentation
  • Ability to assess requirements against standard Blue Yonder functionality and distinguish configuration needs from product gaps or custom-development requirements
  • Understanding of WMS integrations with ERP, OMS, TMS, carrier, labor-management, reporting, automation, robotics, conveyor, and material-handling systems
  • Working knowledge of APIs, interface patterns, data mapping, batch processing, reporting, and system dependencies
  • Experience with SQL or other database-querying tools used for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with high-volume, multi-client, multi-site, or highly automated warehouse environments
  • Experience developing WMS training materials and delivering instructor-led or virtual training to operational users, super-users, trainers, and support teams
  • Ability to translate complex system functionality into clear, practical instructions for warehouse users and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify design gaps, operational risks, and downstream implementation impacts
  • Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation, documentation, training, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse operators, business leaders, technical teams, software vendors, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work within demanding project timelines
  • Availability to travel based on engagement requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Blue Yonder WMS certification or equivalent advanced platform experience
  • Hands-on experience with Blue Yonder WMS cloud releases from 2023 onward, including cloud deployment considerations, release capabilities, configuration approaches, integration dependencies, and upgrade impacts
  • Experience supporting cloud-based Blue Yonder WMS implementations, upgrades, or migrations
  • Experience designing reusable WMS templates or supporting multi-site deployment programs
  • Experience working within 3PL, retail, e-commerce, distribution, or omnichannel fulfillment environments
  • Experience reviewing vendor estimates, implementation plans, statements of work, or change requests
  • Experience with cloud architecture and enterprise integration environments
  • Experience developing role-based training curricula and leading train-the-trainer or end-user enablement programs for enterprise WMS deployments
  • Understanding of AI-assisted configuration, intelligent automation, or emerging warehouse-technology capabilities
  • Previous experience in a client-facing consulting environment

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

  • 30 Days: Ramp up on FIQ's engagement approach, current WMS program(s), and key stakeholders across business, operations, and technical teams; review existing WMS templates, configurations, process flows, and design documentation to understand the current-state environment; begin participating in discovery sessions and requirements-validation activities
  • 60 Days: Independently lead design workshops covering core warehouse processes (inbound, outbound, inventory, returns, etc.); develop or validate key design artifacts (BRDs, FSDs, process flows, configuration workbooks) for at least one active workstream; identify and document initial functional gaps, dependencies, and design risks for stakeholder review
  • 90 Days: Fully own solution design responsibilities for assigned workstreams, with clear traceability between requirements and proposed solutions; lead stakeholder walkthroughs and governance discussions with minimal oversight; begin developing or delivering training materials and enablement sessions to support solution rollout
