About the Artwork
In this journey of transformation, the lasting ripples of past experiences are explored—the ways the mind and body have been numbed, sometimes unable to function or self-regulate. Recognizing how trauma and abuse have impacted the artist has been crucial in discovering paths to healing. The work finds space to unlearn old patterns and relearn from the flow of water—its currents, its resilience, and its freedom to take new shapes. Water teaches that transformation is continuous, that we can shift and evolve while still remaining whole.
Artist's Reflection
In water, the artist sees herself—made of it, and one day, she will return to its flow. She has witnessed her past self slowly changing, growing into something new, yet always present within her. As ripples form, she envisions her future self emerging from who she is today.
