Bloomington 2nd shift Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
- Use PLC, electrical and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair building and production equipment as needed.
- Maintain physical property. This may include painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and large repairs to building and equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance work and other preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist in new equipment installation and modifications of equipment as needed.
- Maintain all walkways and entry areas of the facilities.
- Assist Facilities Director in developing maintenance priorities.
- Remain aware of personal safety requirements associated with each task.
- Respond to safety concerns identified by the Safety Committee and other personnel in an efficient manner.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance as well as formal training in electrical or a mechanical field.
- Moderate electrical skills with an understanding of PLC’s.
- Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance needs to include electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, mature judgment.
- Must be a problem solver as well as an independent thinker.
- Excellent communication and people skills are required as well as ability to take work direction.
- This position requires an individual with great energy, in good physical condition and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Must be able to move equipment and furniture and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working with computers.
Qualifications
Competitive hourly rate in the $30 to $35/hr. range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus and profit-sharing opportunities tied to performance.
