About the role

BI is seeking an Associate to support Senior Strategists in the US. As a BI Credit Strategy Associate, you will be interested in corporate credit markets, including investment grade, high yield and leveraged loans, and will directly support our Credit Strategists in the AMER region. You will source, oversee and generate data and insights based on a mix of fundamental and quantitative approaches. The role offers a steep learning curve with great exposure to market experts in Bloomberg Intelligence. Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of tools and ideally the Bloomberg terminal is expected. Strong coding skills, including Python, and knowledge of statistics are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (i.e. data aggregation and analysis, modeling, written research, idea generation)
  • Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize the results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
  • Conceptualize, construct and maintain research dashboards
  • Help to identify, support and maintain critical data and functionality on the Bloomberg terminal
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituencies
  • Interact regularly with clients via online messaging systems, telephone and client visits
  • Participate in department-wide special projects
  • Integrate new technologies, including generative AI, to create an increasingly sophisticated research product with data-driven analysis

Requirements

  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in a quantitative field
  • Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident/green card holder, refugee, asylee)
  • 2+ years of financial market research experience
  • Keen interest in learning about credit markets
  • Ability to model and manage large data sets
  • Advanced coding skills, including strong Python experience
  • Proficient Excel skills with attention to detail and high standards in data quality
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with a track record of collaboration
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines

Skills

  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Data visualization skills (PowerBI, Tableau, QSEN)
  • CFA designation and/or MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience

Pay

Salary Range: 100,000 - 120,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus. The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
