BI combines analyst expertise with interactive data, proprietary models and emerging technologies, including AI, to deliver faster, deeper and more differentiated research.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze annual meeting agendas, proxy statements, director elections, shareholder proposals, executive compensation votes, and governance structures.
  • Evaluate voting recommendations from ISS and Glass Lewis and assess their likely influence on institutional investor voting.
  • Produce timely research on activist campaigns, including proxy contests, board refreshment efforts, strategic reviews, breakups, capital allocation initiatives, management succession, and M&A activism.
  • Assess the likelihood of activist success, settlement outcomes, board changes, and strategic alternatives.
  • Identify companies vulnerable to activist campaigns using financial, governance, ownership, and operational indicators.
  • Develop thematic research on evolving activism trends across industries and geographies.
  • Monitor developments in proxy advisory regulation, SEC disclosure requirements, and governance best practices.
  • Produce company-specific and thematic research identifying investment risks and opportunities before key shareholder catalysts.
  • Develop proprietary frameworks for evaluating activism vulnerability and proxy contest outcomes.
  • Partner with Bloomberg Product, Engineering, Data, and News teams to expand Bloomberg's activism, governance, and proxy datasets.
  • Present research to institutional investors through Bloomberg events, webinars, podcasts, media appearances, and client meetings.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding ongoing activism campaigns, proxy contests, governance developments, and shareholder voting.
  • Collaborate with BI equity, credit, litigation, policy, sustainable finance and industry analysts on cross-sector research.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in one or more of:
    • Equity research
    • Shareholder activism
    • Corporate governance
    • Proxy advisory
    • Investment banking (shareholder advisory/activism defense)
    • Corporate law or securities litigation
    • Institutional investing
    • Investor relations

Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Outstanding writing skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to identify emerging themes before they become consensus.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • Experience working with large financial datasets and developing proprietary analytical frameworks.

Pay

Salary Range: 150,000 - 210,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
