About the role
Founded in 1964, New York Blood Center (NYBC) has served the tri-state area for more than 60 years, delivering 500,000 lifesaving blood products annually to 150+ hospitals, EMS and healthcare partners. NYBC is part of New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), which spans 17+ states and delivers one million blood products to 400+ U.S. hospitals annually. NYBCe additionally delivers cellular therapies, specialty pharmacy, and medical services to 200+ research, academic and biopharmaceutical organizations.
Responsibilities
- Receives orders and packs blood and blood products.
- Coordinates all products ensuring they reach their proper destination.
- Follows-up on any orders from the transportation department and hospital services.
- Places blood products in crates and cleans up after blood spills.
- Maintains complete inventory of blood and blood products and supplies by taking physical inventory daily.
- Assists with maintaining staffing levels by staying on shift until relieved and performs assigned overtime as required.
- Monitors and follows protocols on alarm system and reads and follows all protocols, guidelines, practices, procedures and regulations.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks including sorting the packing slips and organizing the paperwork.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in inventory/distribution.

Pay
Rate: $22.9753 per hour (pursuant to Local 1199 Collective Bargaining Agreement).
