Blood Bank Lead Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician

About the role

This is a Blood Bank position. This is an evening role consisting of five 8-hour shifts, with a rotating schedule that includes every third weekend.

Responsibilities

• Problem resolution
• Staffing workflow
• Equipment maintenance
• Implementing, maintaining, and assisting in developing procedures, testing platforms, and quality control programs
• Serving as a technical resource for all internal and external customers
• Absorbing charge responsibility for the laboratory in the absence of a supervisor and performing essential duties of an MT/MLT

Requirements

Education: Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a similar field required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) required. Current certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, HEW, ABHI) preferred.

Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician required. Previous Lead experience preferred.
