Southern States Toyotalift is seeking experienced Forklift Technicians to join our team across multiple locations in Florida and Georgia.

About the role

As a Forklift Technician, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of forklifts and material handling equipment. This role involves working with both internal combustion and electric forklifts, including Toyota, JLG, PowerBoss, Autocar, Columbia, Combilift, Bendi, Drexel, and Manitou brands.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and related material handling equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
• Document service records and maintain accurate repair logs
• Provide on-site field service and emergency repairs
• Work with warehouse automation systems and battery charging equipment
• Assist with equipment installations and customer training as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience repairing forklifts or similar industrial equipment
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electric motors, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various warehouse environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations

Skills

• Experience with Toyota, JLG, or other major forklift brands
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• Basic computer skills for service documentation
• Customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
