Block Mold/Expander Operator
About the role
Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Block Mold/Expander Operator for our Fond du Lac, WI plant. You'll receive hands-on training to operate our specialized block mold and expander machines—critical equipment that keeps our production running safely and efficiently. We are currently seeking one candidate for 1st shift and one candidate for 2nd shift. Our production team operates Monday through Friday, providing a consistent work schedule and the opportunity to become an essential part of our daily manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Expander and potentially the Block Mold or set up equipment
- Verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, operate and shut down manufacturing equipment
- Verify order information and produce parts with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards
- Communicate with supervisor to ensure a clear understanding of the daily/weekly expanding schedule
- Expand raw beads to specification
- Monitor equipment and process and report malfunctions to supervisor; assist with routine cleaning and minor maintenance
- Record pertinent information during the expanding processes
- Troubleshoot and make adjustments to equipment settings
- Train back-up expander as needed
- Maintain proper work logs and complete required reports as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Transfer expanded beads into proper storage bag until ready to be transferred to the mold
- Transport raw materials as needed using forklift or hand-operated equipment
Requirements
- Above average understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures
- Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred
- Ability to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools
- Prior experience operating a forklift preferred
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of barcoding
- Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance required
Qualifications
Must be trained and familiar with general safety, Quality System Awareness, and forklift operation within 2 months of hire. Must be verified by supervisor and signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.

Pay
Starting pay is competitive at $19.00 per hour +, depending on experience, with opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career as you gain experience.
