Responsibilities
- Acquire and apply job knowledge and demonstrate those skills and abilities required to effectively and efficiently operate and maintain all packaging equipment.
- Help to promote an employee driven environment.
- Verify batch weights and quantities through mathematical calculations.
- Access D-train and update files regularly.
- Possess the communication skills required to work effectively with other packaging technicians and the blender operator. Proper communication to Production Management, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate the organizational skills and the incentive to work independently to perform job functions and successfully meet the production goals at the level of the quality required.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation policies or procedures.
- Operate the packaging lines under the good manufacturing practice guidelines that are established by the company.
- Communicate any food safety or personal safety hazards to Production Management immediately upon identification of the hazards.
- Acquire and demonstrate the ability to identify and inspect all required packaging materials and insure that these materials meet the company’s standards.
- Operate the production lines with all food safety controls in place and accept responsibility for the food safety of all finished product produced during your period of operation.
- Operate the production lines to maintain proper product weight requirements for the packaging container.
- Ability to complete all written documentation with the timely and accurate submittal to the Supervisor.
- Ability to identify nonconforming material, remelt, residue or waste, and apply the skill to properly label and store these materials.
- Demonstrate the ability to consume remelt material into the proper remelt system and account for the consumption.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Compliance with applicable company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.
- Compliance with all Company policies is required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and in accordance with the company safety and sanitation standards
- Read and verbalize information in company technical manual and production flow charts
- Able to maintain a good attendance record while also showing up on time consistently
- Willing and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Willing and able to lift up to 55lbs (25kg)
- Willing and able to work the evening shift (3:45pm to 2:45am), Monday - Friday
- Willing and able to work overtime as required
