Responsibilities

  • Teach 3D modeling techniques, material creation, and animation workflows in Blender, including box modeling, sculpting organic forms, UV unwrapping, shader node materials, lighting, rigging, keyframe animation, and rendering.
  • Guide students through the full 3D production pipeline, connecting Blender skills to careers in indie game development, motion graphics, and digital art.
  • Adapt instruction using progressive modeling tutorials, project-based learning, and render workflow exercises for students ranging from beginners to advanced users.
  • Identify and address common student challenges, such as navigating the interface, manipulating 3D space, and creating clean topology for animation.
  • Provide personalized instruction through 1-on-1 online tutoring or accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of Blender, including 3D modeling, sculpting, UV unwrapping, texturing, materials with shader nodes, lighting, rigging, animation, physics simulation, and rendering with Cycles and Eevee engines.
  • Ability to explain polygon modeling workflows, procedural texturing, and compositing while preparing students for careers in 3D art, game development, animation, and visual effects.
  • Strong conceptual teaching and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
  • Familiarity with Blender curricula and common student challenges, such as interface navigation and 3D space manipulation.
  • Effective communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
