Blanking Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Ensure all job specification requirements are met before loading a coil on the line.
• Assist in threading the coil onto the line and make necessary adjustments to ensure the quality of the blank.
• Determine the optimum safe speed for each job based on press capabilities and previous runs.
• Complete necessary paperwork and report production accurately.
• Perform die changes and identify defects in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure the quality of the material being processed and oversee proper packaging of material.
• Assist in training new employees and complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
• Exercise the authority to halt production if necessary to correct quality or safety issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform general mathematical equations and possess mechanical skills.
• Ability to identify gross defects and read Micrometers, calipers, tape measure, protractor, and Pfund gage.
• Strong leadership skills and a quality-conscious mindset.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures and the ability to maintain a certain level of production deemed acceptable by management.
• Ability to establish a positive working relationship with fellow team members.
• Experience in leveling steel and Aluminum is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of steel defects is advantageous.
