About the role

Syft is looking for a passionate and experienced Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will build and maintain features that power our marketplace platform, connecting bakeries with skilled shift workers. You'll work across the full stack, collaborate with product and design, and help shape the technical direction of our systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues across the stack
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
• Experience with backend development using Node.js or Python
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
• Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote-first environment
• Self-motivated with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Pay

$120,000 – $160,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Schedule

Full-time, remote-first with flexible working hours. Core collaboration hours are 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET.
