Birthday Party Host

About the Role

Provides guests with excellent service while maintaining an efficient and effective operation in all areas before, during, and after a party.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a welcoming presence as the “first impression” for guests, fellow associates, and vendors.
• Immediately acknowledges guests, requests, and questions.
• Understands party packages, prices, and waterpark information.
• Creates chalkboards on time and ensures correct spelling.
• Understands BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).
• Provides food service, drinks, and cake service.
• Performs trash runs, cleans pitchers, or refills ice.
• Meets the point of contact and asks for feedback.
• Encourages guests to fill out a survey about their experience.
• Ensures final payments are taken and closing duties are completed.
• Asks the closing lead, supervisor, or MOD to inspect the room.
• Maintains a neat and clean appearance, wears proper uniform, name/ID badge, correct department footwear, and a smile.
• Provides excellent customer service that goes “above and beyond” the expectation of waterpark guests.
• Conducts themselves in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
• Immediately addresses all guest requests and follows through to ensure resolution and 100% satisfaction.
• Ensures protocol is followed, including no balloons or cake taken to the water deck floor.
• Able to supervise children with the party at all times.
• Completes any other task as requested by a supervisor, including training new associates.

Requirements

• Ability to pass any related competency or skills-based training necessary for the department.
• Must learn and pass all required tests.
• Ability to host a party with an “above and beyond” attitude.
• Lead by example.
• Availability to work all shifts during the normal operating hours of the waterpark.
• Availability to work the entire season from Memorial Day through Labor Day with minimal requests for extended time off (prior commitments must be addressed before the start date).
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift and take out trash.
• Willing to perform any reasonable tasks if asked in any department.

Performance Measurement

The performance of the Birthday Party Host Associates is measured directly by guest satisfaction. Superior performance means having no guest complaints, accuracy and consistency in cash handling and accounting procedures, and overall effective operation of the front office, switchboard, ticket sales, and guest services.

Pay

$16 per hour

Schedule

• Full availability required during waterpark operating hours.
• Must be available to work the entire season from Memorial Day through Labor Day with minimal time off.
