Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plan goals specific to the client’s Birth-5 needs.
- Provide parenting skills to caregivers, including but not limited to healthy attachment, developmentally appropriate routines, effective consequences and developmental milestones.
- Provide a minimum of 30 hours of face-to-face direct support services to enrolled clients.
- Drive to clients is required, including sessions in the home, in the community, schools or preschools, or OH offices.
- Coach and support members of the client’s clinical team regarding the client’s strengths and developmental needs, including social workers, counselors, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Manage client caseload with timely reviews of service, assessments, ROIs and client engagement.
- Aid and support the family in developing social and natural support networks by utilizing community resources.
- Provide home care training on topics such as early literacy, social-emotional development, and behavior management.
- Support family engagement strategies to help parents and caregivers create nurturing, safe, and predictable learning environments.
- Conduct developmental assessments and observations to evaluate client needs and drive clinical services.
- Implement individualized coaching plans to support caregivers, educators and guardians in achieving their goals.
- Stay up to date with best practices in early childhood education and child development research.
- Collaborate with schools, childcare centers, Head Start programs, and community organizations to provide resources and complete referrals.
- Assist in implementing state and federal early childhood education standards.
- Document coaching sessions, progress, and outcomes for program evaluation and reporting.
- Participate in Child and Family Teams meetings and provide feedback to the Child and Family Teams on client’s progress, strengths, and needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support as needed.
- Attend scheduled department and agency meetings.
- Attend all agencies required trainings and 1:1 coaching supervision, as assigned by supervisor.
- Adhere to the agency’s approved administrative time requirements.
- Aid in actively assessing work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor in a timely manner to ensure follow up.
- Complete all required documentation and billing requirements accurately and in the assigned time frames.
- Provide weekly updates and new interventions regarding client status to guardians.
- Complete monthly reports and distribute them to the CFT team.
- Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and external support services to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in meetings and committees for continuous quality improvement, as needed.
- Provide on-call coverage and crisis intervention/stabilization when needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
- An associate degree with 2 years of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher with 1 or more years of experience working with children with a mental health diagnosis.
- A bachelor’s degree in behavioral health related field (i.e., Psychology, family studies, human development, sociology, etc.).
- Some experience with mental health preferred.
- Previous experience as a behavior coach highly preferred.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred.
