Bioscience Research Associate I
SRI International’s Biosciences Division is seeking a motivated Research Associate I to join the Center for Macromolecular Bioscience in Harrisonburg, VA. The ideal candidate will have a background in biotechnology, chemical biology, molecular and cellular biology, or related fields and a desire to contribute intellectually within a collaborative team environment.
SRI is advancing novel therapeutics and diagnostics in oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. About the role
This onsite position in Harrisonburg, VA, supports cross-disciplinary research teams working on cutting-edge bioscience projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory experiments as directed by senior scientists.
- Collaborate with scientists from disciplines such as chemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, neuroscience, and immunology in cross-divisional teams.
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and present progress to the group.
- Complete required training classes and uphold a safe working environment.
- Learn and adhere to SRI’s intellectual property guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a similar discipline.
- Experience with mammalian tissue culture, PCR, and/or animal handling is a plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Pay
Salary range: $44,464–$58,912. Ranges vary based on geographic location, market competitiveness, and internal equity. Eligible positions may qualify for SRI’s Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance-Based Compensation program.
