Biorepository Research Assistant

About the role
The Biorepository Research Assistant assists with coordination of Biorepository operations to ensure quality specimens are acquired and processed in a timely manner. This role communicates with researchers regarding their sample requests, processes samples according to investigator protocols, and coordinates operations with hospital and clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Process samples manually according to established SOPs and investigator protocols.
- Perform pre-analytical processing including sorting, centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling, and completing study-required documentation.
- Coordinate biorepository operations with assessment teams, operating rooms, surgical pathology labs, clinics, and other hospital/clinical areas.
- Handle shipping and storage of samples as required by study protocols.
- Extract data from source documents and complete database entries.
- Maintain accurate records of all processes and transactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff for collection and distribution of specimens.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related science (e.g., medical technology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology) is preferred.
- Scientific training in a laboratory environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate clinical laboratory instruments.
- Knowledge of human anatomy is preferred.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule
Full-Time, Days – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
