Biomedical Tech 1- Biomedical 8063 (Full Time)

About the role

The Biomedical Technician 1 at St. Mary's Medical Center will perform complicated testing and troubleshooting procedures on biomedical equipment using technical schematics, manufacturers' operation and testing standards, and various types of testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
• Reports on the job as scheduled.
• Follows all standard safety precautions.
• Follows the standards of conduct and policies and procedures of St. Mary’s Medical Center and applicable laws and regulations.
• Completes required competency assessments annually.
• Promotes and maintains patient safety.
• Makes decisions based on the age of the patients treated when appropriate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the required unit-specific equipment and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ongoing unit-specific performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal training program in biomedical technology or a related field.
• Current certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET).
• Experience with medical equipment and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
