Biomedical Site Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and electrical safety inspections on laboratory biomedical equipment according to established schedules and work orders
• Inspect and support installation of new laboratory equipment while overseeing IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities at assigned sites
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure high equipment availability
• Support laboratory staff with equipment best practices and operational guidance
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and safety inspections
• Manage and maintain all aspects of the Qualer CMMS database, ensuring equipment records and compliance documentation remain current and accurate
• Process and track work orders through the Qualer ticketing system for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
• Cover coordination of third party vendor support, including scheduling service visits, obtaining quotes, processing purchase orders, and confirming completion of work
• Partner closely with Quality teams to support ongoing 21 CFR compliance requirements

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• An associate’s degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• At least two years of biomedical equipment maintenance experience in a hospital, laboratory, diagnostics, or clinical environment are required
• Experience working with CMMS platforms is required; Qualer experience is preferred
• Experience coordinating external vendors and managing service activities is preferred
• A CBET or CLES certification is preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently are required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Proficiency with Excel and database management systems is required
• The ability to work independently with limited on-site supervision is required
