Responsibilities
- Ensure biomedical devices meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Diagnose and repair equipment issues using relevant scientific knowledge.
- Participate in on-call service to address urgent equipment needs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff to resolve operational problems.
- Perform planned maintenance on various medical equipment according to guidelines.
- Work effectively in a team to monitor, resolve, and escalate equipment issues.
- Provide status reports, gather department requirements, and provide input on equipment purchases/services.
- Process service request calls and tickets - from scheduling to completion.
- Conduct inventory inspections and request necessary parts, supplies, and instruments.
Requirements
- An Associate's degree in medical electronics, electronic technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience) is preferred.
- One to two years of experience performing medical equipment maintenance is preferred.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and field-specific test equipment.
- Understanding of relevant regulations (OSHA, NFPA, HIPAA) related to the Biomedical and Health Care industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to read schematics/drawings.
Skills
