Biomedical Equipment Technician II

Responsibilities

  • Maintains records, writes reports, and coordinates outside repairs
  • Completes technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment
  • Completes repair of damaged medical equipment
  • Completes overhaul of medical equipment
  • Uses authorized Army Automation Systems, which include, but are not limited to, the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), the Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E), Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), Global Combat Support System (GCSS) and other systems that are specifically authorized by the USAMMA M3DP
  • Possesses the training and abilities to technically inspect, repair, calibrate, and overhaul medical equipment
  • Performs calibration and PM

Qualifications

  • Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of schematics and works under relatively close supervision on repairs, safety testing, and preventive maintenance (PM)
  • Advanced knowledge of policies, practices, procedures, and types of equipment
  • Knowledge maintenance actions: technical inspections, repair, calibrations/PMCS, and overhaul of medical equipment
  • Good communication and time management skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) or more years of experience as a BMET
  • A minimum of a graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or having earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology
  • A background check will be conducted
  • Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CACP
  • Possess the ability to pass a NCIC investigation and scored credit check per federal and contractual requirements
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Pay And Benefits
