Responsibilities

  • Ensure biomedical equipment complies with Federal, State, and/or applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality control standards and maintain budget and vendor relationships.
  • Perform biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Perform maintenance cycles, including calibrating, repairing, inspecting, and overhauling military inventory of various types of medical equipment.
  • Perform technical inspections of new, used, or reconditioned Army medical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Determine associated support items of equipment to perform scheduled services and maintenance repairs and calibration; supply support and provisioning requirements; and training requirements.
  • Prepare necessary support documentation and purchase requisitions of parts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Frequent travel as required, estimated 15%.

Qualifications

  • Necessary skills and knowledge: Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing; ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability to speak, read, and understand English; familiarity with biomedical maintenance field and its concepts, practices, and procedures; ability to pass a NACI background check and acquire a CAC; ability to lift up to 40 pounds of equipment; ability to push/pull equipment carts; ability to kneel, stand, bend, and reach during equipment repair; willingness and ability to frequently travel.
  • Necessary education and certifications: Minimum three (3) or more years of experience as a BMET; minimum a graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET); or have at least earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology; ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CAC; ability to pass a NCIC investigation and scored credit check per federal and contractual requirements; must be a US citizen.

Pay and Benefits
