About the Role

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a 273-bed acute care facility in Aiken, South Carolina, provides top-quality and safe healthcare to residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. This role involves performing evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on medical devices under some supervision, ensuring the safest and best possible patient experience while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HTM Leadership and facility leadership to manage the HTM program and deliver program excellence.
  • Develop and sustain vendor and coworker relationships.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and sustaining a 5-year capital plan for devices in the CMMS database.
  • Facilitate device evaluations for medical devices as assigned.
  • Support HTM leadership in identifying and suggesting devices for acquisition or replacement.
  • Provide reporting through the CMMS database and develop/customize necessary reports for HTM operations.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on devices, including follow-up communications.
  • Travel to other sites as directed or needed.
  • Operate test equipment required for the repair and maintenance of devices in the HTM Program.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electronics, electromechanical, or medical equipment, or completion of an accredited Healthcare Technology Management program.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with healthcare technology programs preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical equipment (manufacturers, models, modalities, device types).
  • General understanding of regulatory requirements for medical devices (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, State, Local).
  • Moderate computer skills (Microsoft products) and experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) products.
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g., CBET, CRES, CLES, CABT, CHTM, PMP, AWS-CSAA, CISSP, CAN, MLT, CRCST).
