About the role
BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri regions. Memorial Hospital is seeking a Biomed Tech I to join their team in Springfield, IL.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment.
- Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturer’s specifications.
- Conducts analyses to identify symptoms, define problems, compare options, implement solutions, and evaluate results, troubleshooting if necessary.
- Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. No experience required. Associate's Degree in Engineering, Biomed Engineering, or related field preferred. No supervisor experience required.
Qualifications

Skills
Biomedical Technician experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Electronics experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of medical instrumentation, device, and system performance is essential.
