Biomed Tech

Responsibilities

• Inspection, calibration, installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of clinical equipment.
• Works with equipment users for the best resolution of issues and communicates equipment status.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Keeps complete records of work done.
• Affords assistance with equipment replacement recommendations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelors degree in biomedical electronics or related field, or a combination of relevant training and experience.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes and standards related to biomedical equipment and environments.
• Demonstrated ability to apply electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of the theories of operation, underlying physiologic principles, and practical, safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of basic computer theory and effective use of computer systems and applications.
• Skilled in the use of tools and materials involved in the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
