Full-time position with 72 hours per pay period, shift as assigned.

About the role

Under relatively close supervision, repairs, calibrates and maintains basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems. Inspects, installs and provides preventive maintenance of general clinical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, calibrate, and maintain basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems.
  • Inspect, install, and perform preventive maintenance on general clinical equipment.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.
  • Utilize general applications such as email, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Work safely with hand tools and specialized test equipment.
  • Learn from others on the job and teach basic skills to new hires or interns.

Requirements

  • Academic work or military training with emphasis in mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, electronic theory, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • CABT or CBET certification preferred.
  • Six months of experience working in an inpatient hospital or healthcare facility preferred.
  • Basic understanding and skills related to general electromechanical systems and devices.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements

  • Able to stand, climb, stoop, and bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures, or confined spaces.
  • Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Needs adequate color vision.
  • Must wear protective clothing as required.
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot, cold, range of temperatures, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish odors.
  • May be required to travel to various locations.
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.

Pay

Minimum $28.75 USD per hour, maximum $42.67 USD per hour (this represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job).
