Biology Organismal Laboratory Coordinator
About the role
This is a full-time 9-month position as a Biology Laboratory Coordinator starting August 2026. The position involves working closely with faculty to ensure smooth, safe, and effective operation of biology labs. Key responsibilities include preparing and gathering necessary equipment, supplies, and materials, assisting students during lab sessions, accompanying classes on field trips, maintaining laboratory equipment, and tracking supplies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and gather equipment, supplies, chemicals, handouts, safety and disposal materials, cultures, media, and solutions needed for weekly biology labs.
- Consult with students during lab sessions when requested by faculty.
- Occasionally accompany classes on off-campus field trips.
- Assist with routine maintenance and care of laboratory equipment.
- Track supplies to ensure labs are fully stocked.
- Assist with some assessment work as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred in Biology or related field).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students.
- Commitment to safe laboratory practices and proper chemical handling.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and insurability to drive.
- Some fieldwork and off-campus travel may occur during student field trips.

The hiring pay range is $38,000-40,000.
