Job Responsibilities

To serve as instructor for the College, including duties of teaching, developing materials, advising students, and providing assistance to the administration through committees and other activities. This is an in-person position located at the Cheraw Campus.

Job Functions

  • Serve as an instructor, facilitating the learning process through multi modalities and laboratory environments.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain current instructional materials including lesson plans, lab projects, through course objectives, outlines, appropriate instructional materials and methods.
  • Manage the classroom and laboratory effectively, ensuring safety and maintaining current lab experience and equipment.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports supporting the collegiate learning environment.
  • Assist students in personal and professional development.
  • Use required office hours and professional student advising for student completion.
  • Participate in college activities and promote NETC through service.
  • Participate in activities designed to develop professional skills to maintain and improve job proficiency.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • SBTCE Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree with 18 credit hours in the subject area. Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred: Previous teaching experience at community/technical college. Experience using a variety of teaching modalities (face-to-face, broadcast, and online).
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to higher education instruction. Knowledge and/or work experience.
  • Knowledge of standard business practices and accepted protocol for areas of responsibility. Knowledge of college mission, goals and objectives and ability to relate these to areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of a professional level staff; establish good working relationships with alumni, businesses, students, faculty and others in the college community. Ability to interpret and apply all related laws.
  • Demonstration of teaching abilities.

Additional Comments

  • The teaching environment includes classroom and lab, requiring local travel to business/industry and community campuses and some short term travel may be required for professional meetings.
  • Professional Development may require some overnight stays.
  • Teaching locations include partner High Schools, State, Federal and Juvenile Correction facilities, community campuses, and industry partners.

Employees are offered one flexible work schedule option. All schedules consist of three full days and one shorter day, which totals 37.5 hours per week.
