Position Information
The contractor will provide support services to satisfy the operational objectives of the NIH Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine, Human Leukocyte Antigen Laboratory.

Deliverables
- Work products and documents related to specimen processing, DNA extraction and quantitation, molecular HLA typing utilizing PCR, SSP, SSO, SBT, NGS, agarose preparation and gel electrophoresis, interpretation of HLA typing results, and various HLA antibody screening methods and interpretation.
- Ad-Hoc work products and documents related to identifying unusual HLA antibody and typing patterns; maintaining leadership and support roles; performing final review analysis processes; determining discrepancies needing resolution; participating in laboratory record and SOP reviews; maintaining quality assurance documents; implementing changes upon request; working on test assay development, validation, and implementation of new equipment and reagents; troubleshooting laboratory software and instrumentation; monitoring quality assurance practices; coordinating teaching processes; and working on various research projects.
Statement of Work Details
- Perform specimen processing
- Perform DNA extraction and quantitation utilizing various manual and automated methods
- Molecular HLA typing utilizing PCR, SSP, SSO technology, and SBT
- Molecular HLA typing utilizing next generation sequencing
- Next generation sequencing data analysis
- Agarose preparation and gel electrophoresis; photo-documentation of results
- Interpret HLA typing results
- Support HLA staff in communication with transplant groups and documentation
- Perform troubleshooting on HLA analysis software and database management systems
- Various HLA antibody screening and identification methods and interpretation
- Identify unusual HLA antibody and typing patterns; maintain leadership and support roles; perform final review analysis processes; determine discrepancies needing resolution; participate in laboratory record and SOP reviews; maintain quality assurance documents; implement changes upon request; work on test assay development, validation, and implementation of new equipment and reagents; collaborate on new reagents and assays for antibody detection; validate and record specimens in software-based applications; apply troubleshooting skills; monitor quality assurance practices; coordinate teaching processes; and work on various research projects.
Salary Range
$100,000 - $110,000 USD
