About the role

As part of this position, you will define informatics and analysis solutions, support next-generation sequencing (NGS) tools, and act as a champion for customers by influencing product development based on their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand computational and analytical needs from customers; define informatics and analysis solutions as well as the data journey for customers.
  • Test, deploy, automate, run, and support next-generation sequencing informatics tools.
  • Troubleshoot data analysis issues and address questions from internal and external customers.
  • Benchmark and evaluate pipeline performance; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Educate sales and support teams on NGS, data analysis requirements, and customers’ data journey.
  • Be the champion for customers, lead voice-of-customer data collection, and use these insights to influence product development.

Requirements

  • BS degree in biology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with NGS and genomics data and analysis.
  • Experience in an external customer-facing role.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to adapt to change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, highly motivated, responsible, independent self-starter, and problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in biology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Molecular biology and/or immunology background.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing data formats (FASTQ, SAM/BAM, FASTA).
  • Experience generating content for customer and stakeholder training.
  • Experience with single-cell RNA-seq assays or other NGS assays (highly desirable).
  • Experience with any of the following: Docker, Common Workflow Language (CWL), Seven Bridges, Arvados, or AWS.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this role is $95,600.00 – $153,000.00 USD annually, plus incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule

This role requires a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week at the Milpitas, CA location. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements.
