Bioinformatics Patent Agent / Patent Attorney (CA / CO / DC / GA / NC / TX / Remote)
About the role
Kilpatrick’s Chemistry & Life Sciences Patent Prosecution team seeks a USPTO-registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have a high level of familiarity and practical experience in both the software and biological fields.
For attorney candidates, this role is an alternative to traditional partnership-track positions and features a lower billable hour requirement. Admission (or qualification for admission) to the state bar corresponding to the primary office location is required.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred
- At least three years of related patent prosecution experience
- USPTO registration (Patent Agent or Patent Attorney)
- Highly detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in technical writing (considered a strong plus)
- Transcripts and writing samples will be requested during the application process
Locations
This position can be based in one of the following offices: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Seattle, WA; Raleigh, NC; San Francisco, CA; Silicon Valley, CA; Washington DC; or Winston-Salem, NC. Remote or hybrid candidates may be considered.
Pay
Expected salary range: $140,000 – $225,000
