Bioinformatics Patent Agent / Patent Attorney (CA / CO / DC / GA / NC / TX / Remote)

Kilpatrick’s Chemistry & Life Sciences Patent Prosecution team seeks either a USPTO-registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will possess strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. We prefer candidates with an advanced degree (MS or PhD) and at least three years of related patent prosecution experience. Given the unique focus of this role, a high level of familiarity and practical experience in both the software and biological fields is highly preferred. Applicants must be highly detail-oriented and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in technical writing considered a strong plus. Transcripts and writing samples will be requested during the application process. For attorney candidates, this Patent Attorney role is an alternative to traditional partnership-track positions and features a lower billable hour requirement. Admission (or qualification for admission) to the state bar corresponding to the primary office location is required.
