About the role
Reporting to the Chief Intellectual Property Officer, provides support to the Office of Technology Transfer in management of its intellectual property portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and prosecuting patent filings
- Developing and implementing offensive and defensive IP strategies
- Conducting various patent searches
- Conducting limited freedom-to-practice evaluations
- Preparing or obtaining appropriate opinions and providing timely counsel on intellectual property issues
- Performs related responsibilities as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Advanced degree in discipline related to specialty area
- Two years of experience in patent prosecution, a law firm or corporation
Work schedule & location
- This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs
- Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department
- This role requires residency in the state of GA
- Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee
