About the Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is more valuable than you might think — beyond the lab. Alignerr partners with the world's leading AI research teams to build and train cutting-edge scientific AI models, and we need PhD-level biochemists to help get it right.
Fully remote. Flexible hours. No AI experience required.
What You'll Do
- Design Expert-Level Problems — Craft advanced biochemistry challenges across domains such as nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop detailed, step-by-step technical responses that serve as scientific benchmarks for AI reasoning in life sciences.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical derivations for technical accuracy, logical consistency, and adherence to scientific standards.
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify failures in AI logic — such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied enzyme kinetics — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.
Who You Are
- PhD-level expertise in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field (completed or in final stages)
- Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics
- Able to communicate highly technical biological and chemical concepts clearly and precisely in written form
- High attention to detail when reviewing complex equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
- Background in scientific writing, peer review, or academic publishing
