Bindery Operator South
About the Role
As our Bindery Operator, you will set up, adjust, and operate a variety of binding machines, inspect equipment for safety issues, make needed adjustments, and direct the crew through all aspects of production while monitoring quality, output, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary binding machines with multiple functions and stations.
- Inspect equipment for safety issues.
- Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) with interrelated process stations.
- Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
- Direct crew through all aspects of production, monitoring quality, output, and productivity.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of setup, adjustment, procedures, capabilities, and limitations of bindery equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of machinability of different paper weights, sizes, kinds, and colors.
- Ability to identify paper conditions requiring additional machine adjustments.
- Thorough knowledge of limitations and capabilities of machines for unusual setups or combinations.
- Skill in making difficult adjustments using hand tools and specialized equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret written work instructions for machine operations and dimensional accuracy.

Starting Rate: $23.30
Work Hours: 12-hour Day shift, 6am-6pm: Mon-Tue, Fri-Sat-Sun, Wed-Thur; overtime as required
