About the role
PGH Wong is seeking a highly experienced BIM Manager to lead and manage designers in the execution and maintenance of BIM for transportation and/or infrastructure projects. You will build and guide a cross-disciplinary team while developing BIM capabilities within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop BIM capabilities within the team, including preparing a team plan and recruiting.
- Produce and coordinate infrastructure 3D models and objects covering transit station architecture, mechanical, electrical, and civil design.
- Design pavement sections and construction details.
- Prepare drawings showing interfacing of different systems, underground utilities, work phasing, etc.
- Develop BIM Execution Plans for different projects in line with the scope and Level of Design required.
- Create BIM Plans for operative assets and ensure lifecycle history for future management and operational asset value.
- Collaborate in a team environment to resolve design/drawing issues and accomplish objectives.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable BIM or CAD products and services in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Assist in administration, training others on BIM or CAD systems and company standards.
- Identify professional development needs for BIM or CAD operators to ensure skills match project needs.
- Supervise and assist the technical work of less experienced designers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in BIM/design, preferably in transportation projects (other infrastructure experience considered).
- Ability to organize, delegate, and oversee a team of designers and draftsmen to complete projects from start to finish.
- Understanding of the scope and limits of responsibility between various engineering disciplines and project support groups.
- Advanced understanding of BIM.
- Revit experience required.
- MicroStation InRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Data Management Systems: Bentley ProjectWise, MS SharePoint, Autodesk BIM360.
- Experience working within large and/or multi-disciplinary design engineering projects.
- Capability to quickly and accurately solve complex CAD problems.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS): analyzing topographic data, transforming coordinates, importing topographic models, etc.
- Strong reporting skills for colleagues and senior managers.
- Excellent communication skills and an organized work manner.
- Personal drive to successfully conclude project specifics.
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy.
