About the role
This position is based out of our San Jose, CA office.
Responsibilities
- Leading, overseeing, and coordinating all building information modeling (BIM) projects
- Managing day-to-day activities of the BIM team
- Successfully executing the BIM process from inception through completion on all assigned electrical construction projects
- Partners with senior leadership to provide strategic input to key objectives, goals, policies, procedures, work standards, and other decisions affecting the functional work group
- Creating, communicating, and monitoring Company Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) policies, programs, processes, and standards to keep employees accountable and management informed of new developments and potential improvement opportunities
- Developing estimates and proposals for design efforts
- Making sure daily department operations meet goals and objectives and follow Company standards
- Planning and overseeing all BIM projects to optimize efficiency of labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and software
- Managing budgets, schedules, estimates, and providing quality control and problem resolution advice
- Anticipating changes and events that may impact project schedules, budgets, or materials/service quality
- Coordinating and communicating all scope and budget changes with the project manager to help facilitate recouping extra BIM costs due to project changes
- Providing high quality hiring, communications, mentoring, training, and team building to staff and other coworkers as needed
- Coaching employees and providing performance feedback regularly
- Establishing and nurturing a positive teamwork environment
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in building information modeling (BIM), trade school, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a BIM specialist role or equivalent work
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience directly managing people
- Experience and proficiency using Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office software
- Experience and proficiency setting up Revit models and creating families, along with troubleshooting Revit-related software issues
- Skills to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications
- Extensive project management skills
- A thorough understanding of the project life cycle
- Demonstrated strong leadership, customer focus, delegation, and decision-making skills
- Effective small and large group training and facilitation skills with diverse participants
- Strong business analysis, budgeting, and mathematical skills
- Skills to read and interpret financial documents
- Demonstrated high level of integrity and dependability

Pay
$120,800 – $157,100 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
