About the role
Felix Construction Company is seeking a BIM Detailer to transition from hands-on mechanical field installation expertise into a design-focused role, creating precise, constructible 3D models that improve installation accuracy, support field teams, and enhance project coordination. This position plays a key role in reducing errors, improving communication, and increasing efficiency through better planning, prefabrication, and sequencing.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed 3D BIM models using Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM software.
- Apply field knowledge to develop constructible models that reflect real-world installation practices.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure models meet project and installation standards.
- Identify and resolve constructability issues during the modeling phase to prevent delays or rework.
- Produce shop drawings, installation sheets, and fabrication sheets for use in the field.
- Participate in clash detection and coordination meetings to improve project integration.
- Ensure model integrity and maintain compliance with BIM standards and project-specific requirements.
Requirements
- An experienced tradesperson—ideally with a background in electrical construction—ready to apply your expertise to a design-focused role.

Qualifications
- Field experience in construction (Electrical or Mechanical), with strong knowledge of installation methods, materials, and processes.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, or AutoCAD (preferred).
- Able to interpret construction documents, specifications, and submittals, and visualize the completed installation.
