Bim Designer
About the role
We are seeking a skilled BIM Designer to create electrical drawings for various facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The ideal candidate will perform system calculations, drawing production, master specification editing, and construction cost estimating while working under the supervision of a licensed professional.
Responsibilities
- Create electrical drawings for facilities such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection.
- Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, master specification editing, and construction cost estimating.
- Work on assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under supervision.
- Responsible for the electrical layout of multiple points using Trimble Stations.
- Ensure all documents and designs meet CAD standards and Quality Program Criteria.
- Produce internal pre-fabrication plans and complete quality control reviews to ensure finished materials match plans.
- Attend clash detection meetings with other trades and general contractors to create detailed shop drawings for installation.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in a closely related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two or more years of experience in electrical, lighting, power, and building design.
Skills
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM, and design.
- Strong computer skills in Revit, Navisworks, and/or ACC.
- Familiarity with Trimble and Evolve.
- Strong skill set in the use of Bluebeam solutions.
- Working knowledge of commercial, industrial, or healthcare projects.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch between tasks.
- Previous experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm.
Work Environment
The role involves attending meetings with other trades and general contractors, working on a variety of projects, and requires strong proficiency in computer-aided design software. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, effectively balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Schedule
This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Kansas City, MO.
