About the role

The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Lead Modeler is a critical member of the newly established Hilti BIM service offering. Reporting directly to both field teams and customers, this role establishes the BIM service offer, project timelines, and ensures that BIM service deliverables align with contract specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Create central and local models; set up project folder structures and naming conventions
  • Clean up models for effective usability
  • Link all relevant Revit models and ensure their utilization
  • Execute the Hilti plug-in to identify penetrations and anchor points
  • Collaborate with technical experts to assign penetrations to the correct Hilti products and obtain approvals
  • Export necessary views into specified file types (Revit, BIM 360 Glue, Navisworks) using consistent naming conventions
  • Establish document storage, access, and sharing systems; share files with customers and field teams
  • Lead communication with the field team
  • Collaborate with Modeler I to ensure quality of deliverables; train and support new BIM team members
  • Document change order requests and communicate opportunities to the BIM Manager
  • Utilize the Request for Information (RFI) process to gather information from customers and/or projects
  • Execute Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) to ensure compliance with BIM practices and Hilti standards
  • Document time allocation and submit reports per billing cycles
  • Develop efficient processes to reduce lead times for model and shop drawing deliveries
  • Communicate software improvement opportunities to the Software Product Manager
  • Communicate BIM element improvement opportunities to the Global BIM Manager and Global PMO team
  • Serve as an expert user to test and validate Hilti BIM software improvements and new releases

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Design Drafting Technology or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of industry experience with Revit
  • Experience with Navisworks and BIM 360 Glue
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain file hierarchies
  • Willingness to take responsibility and work collaboratively
  • Knowledge of industry standards and trends, and ability to stay updated on new BIM software releases (Revit and others)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated documentation skills and familiarity with the RFI process

Qualifications

  • This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment without the need for sponsorship
