Billing Specialist - Hybrid

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare invoices for cost plus, time and materials, and fixed price contracts.
• Rely on labor, ODCs, subcontractor costs, and indirect burdens to reconcile invoices.
• Submit invoices through government systems like WAWF/iRAPT, IPP, or agency specific portals.
• Ensure invoices meet formatting, documentation, and approval requirements.
• Prepare documentation for DCAA audits, internal audits, and customer reviews.
• Maintain detailed billing files and audit-ready documentation.
• Generate AR aging reports and support collections efforts.
• Work with project managers to validate billable costs and funding status.
• Coordinate with AP, payroll, and subcontract management to ensure accurate cost flow.
• Communicate with contracting officers, CORs, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of billing experience in government contracting or professional services using Deltek Costpoint.
• Understanding of indirect rate structures, provisional billing rates, and cost pools.
• Demonstrated Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.

Pay Range

The anticipated salary range for this role is $59k-$70k and will be commensurate with experience.
