Billing Specialist

Smartly Technologies is seeking a Billing Specialist to support its team in managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, software and web delivery, technical support, systems, data, projects, and customer service. This full-time, 100% remote role is available to candidates throughout the United States.

About the role

Your responsibilities will center on managing invoices, payment records, account follow-up, billing discrepancies, and recurring billing reports.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain accurate financial, account, invoice, payment, payroll, claim, or control records relevant to the Billing Specialist role.
• Process or verify assigned transactions and supporting documentation using approved systems and procedures.
• Reconcile records, investigate discrepancies, and document approved corrections or required follow-up.
• Prepare recurring summaries, aging reports, reconciliations, exception reports, or supporting schedules as required.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, employees, or internal teams when information is missing or clarification is needed.
• Protect sensitive financial and personal information and follow Smartly Technologies access-control procedures.

Requirements

• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and comfort working with spreadsheets and finance or record-management systems.
• Ability to reconcile records, identify discrepancies, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
• Clear professional communication when following up on financial or account questions.
• High discretion when handling payment, banking, payroll, claim, or personal information.
• Ability to meet recurring deadlines and follow detailed control procedures consistently.
• A pre-employment background check and, where applicable to the role and permitted by law, credit screening are required.

Pay

Base salary: $50,000 - $56,500 per year
