Billing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process billing inquiries in a timely fashion.
• Ensure transactions are prepared according to finance policies and approval standards.
• Verify and process daily invoices.
• Act as the focal point for addressing billing inquiries and activities for customers, provisioning permissions, sales, and support.
• Process internal requests for address changes, billing account changes, rate changes, account termination, account reactivation, and recurring billing additions.
• Support collection activities through special billing requirements, billing reconciliation issues, and supplying customer documentation.
• Manage complex draft and recurring invoices, in addition to invoice processing.
• Act as a resource for best practices regarding obtaining and maintaining documentation for customers.
• Address complex situations regarding sales rep’s communication.
• Partner with legal teams to derive terminology and appropriate wording regarding contracts.
• Partner with the product & pricing team on creating new products and apply their associated claims.
• Create new entities end-to-end and ensure their implementation in relevant systems.
• Assist with month-end closing.
• Contribute to the team’s mission to improve data flows, optimize processes, and ensure accounting output is accurate.
• Build and implement new processes in relevant systems.
• Mentor new team members and guide them on best practices and knowledge-sharing capabilities.

Requirements

• Completed degree in finance, economics, or business management (preferred).
• Two years of prior billing experience.
• Good technical and system understanding.
• Proficiency with MS Windows Office Suite and G-drive (advanced Excel user preferred).
• Superb attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with the corporate office and be self-motivated.
• Ability to learn quickly and keep up in an ever-changing environment.
• High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
• Ability to produce well-written, professional documents (spreadsheets, email, etc.).
• Ability to follow directions, meet strict deadlines, and work independently.
• Genuine desire to develop positive and productive working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Excellent English – written and spoken.
• Salesforce experience (a plus).
• Third-party billing system experience (a plus).

Pay

The base salary range for this position in the New York City metro area is $75,000 to $95,000. Individual compensation is based on qualifications and relevant experience.
