Billing Specialist

Location: Park Springs | Department: Accounting

About the role

The Billing Specialist performs data entry and clerical support while assisting the Accounting Director with daily coordination and operations of the Accounting Department. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of invoices for multiple departments across Park Springs.

Responsibilities

• Compiles and inputs member demographics into the computer for billing using programs such as MatrixCare, Retail Tracker, insurance, and Medicare websites.
• Receives and posts ancillary charges for monthly billing.
• Handles billing and collections for Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Adult Day, At Home, Skilled Nursing, and Outpatient Therapy.
• Processes charges for Medicare Part A and B claims and insurance.
• Facilitates Triple Check meetings each month for Medicare and Managed Care A billing.
• Balances cash receipts and runs End of Month processing.
• Posts incoming payments from members, insurance, and Medicare.
• Performs monthly analysis of Accounts Receivable.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance by following written policies and procedures to protect confidential health information.
• Ensures OIG compliance by adhering to federal and state laws and regulations.
• Interacts with members and coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience and/or specialized training.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to sit at a desk for up to six hours per day.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to access files and documentation.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
• May be exposed to constant noise from office printers.
