Duties/Responsibilities
- Support Project Finance Manager
- Monthly billings
- Recording and reconciling project team managed billings in the accounting system, reconciling, and resolving variances
- Monthly reporting packages for Project Managers
- Timecard reviews for project charging accuracy
- Sets up and modifies projects and employees in the accounting system based on contract documentation and information provided by the Project Finance Manager
- Supports the close process as needed to ensure close timeline is met
- May include but are not limited to:
- Depreciation and amortization entries
- Miscellaneous accruals
- Monthly bank, debt, balance sheet, revenue, and other account reconciliations and adjustments
- Other monthly close and general accounting duties as assigned
- Supports annual financial audits, diligence, and other financial evidence collection requests
- Maintains accessible and audit ready documentation for responsible areas
- Gathers, reviews, submissions, and can explain documentation to external auditors
- Maintains strong familiarity with Orbis Policies and procedures
- Backs up critical functions assigned to others on Accounting Team
- Contributes to other Special Finance/Accounting initiatives as time permits
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and Maintain a Secret level clearance
- Excellent computer skills; experience in Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Pays strict attention to detail
Desired Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 4 years’ experience in accounting/finance, at least 2 years in government contracting
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings
- Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region
- Hybrid position requiring 1-2 days in office per week
