Billing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Processes discharge transports for traditional Medicare.
• Reviews and submits medically necessary claims to Medicare for payment/denial along with accurate documentation.
• Completes ambulance coding of non-emergency claims.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all customers.
• Recommends efficiencies to overall departmental processes.
• Completes required reports and assists with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 3+ years of medical billing experience with government payor.
• Familiarity with government payor and HIPAA requirements.
• Knowledge of HCPCS and strong computer skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent follow-through.
• Able to manage high-volume work with speed and accuracy.
• Flexibility, quick learner, and goal-driven.
• Team-oriented, cooperative, and committed.

Qualifications

• Strong alpha-numeric data entry skills: 35+ WPM with 90%+ accuracy.
• Preferred: Medical billing, government payor requirements, and medical billing software experience.
• Preferred: Ambulance coding and appeals.
• Preferred: Remote work experience.

Pay

Hourly compensation: $20 - $22 DOE

Schedule

Full-Time Work Schedule By Time Zone:

• 6:00 am-2:30 pm Pacific
• 7:00 am-3:30 pm Mountain
• 8:00 am-4:30 pm Central
• 9:00 am-5:30 pm Eastern
