Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate client invoices in accordance with contract requirements.
- Establish new projects and proposal numbers within the project accounting system.
- Process project setup changes, budget revisions, and contract modifications.
- Analyze project financial data to support accurate revenue recognition and work-in-process reporting.
- Partner with Project Managers to resolve billing questions and ensure contract compliance.
- Provide project-specific billing guidance and financial support to project teams.
- Prepare and distribute project reports and financial information as requested.
- Maintain organized electronic project documentation and billing records.
- Afford assistance with operational and financial reporting initiatives and other accounting support activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in project billing, project accounting, or a related financial role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with an ERP/accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with project managers and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or other project-based accounting software.
- Experience with project financial analysis, revenue recognition, and work-in-process reporting.
- Experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) or environmental consulting industry.
