The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare billing, Medicaid Waiver billing, and claims processing in a fast-paced office environment. Sandata experience is strongly preferred. This position will serve as the primary biller for Medicaid Waiver clients utilizing the following systems: AxisCareSandata (Connecticut’s Electronic Visit Verification system)DSSMaps portal This role will also serve as a backup biller for non-Medicaid Waiver clients across various payer sources, including: Private-pay clients, including Long-Term Care Insurance reimbursement claims submission supportDSS clients through Social Work Services / Protective Services for the Elderly (PSE) programsRespite Grant clients through Agencies on Aging and various organizations (e.g., the Alzheimer’s Association)Veterans through the VA Community Care NetworkRespite clients through Medicare’s GUIDE Model partnerships (e.g., Connecticut Hospice/Stand By Me and PocketRN) This is a fully on-site position reporting to the Managing Director. Key Responsibilities Input data and prepare claims in AxisCare for billing purposes within Sandata and DSSMapsCreate, review, and export invoices in AxisCare system for processing finalized claims with SandataConfirm shifts worked to ensure accurate and timely billingResearch and resolve billing inconsistencies, denied claims, and payment discrepanciesMaintain client billing records and all supporting documentationSecure and verify prior authorizations, eligibility, and required billing documentationProvide daily billing updates and reports for management reviewProvide daily billing issues status report for management reviewCollaborate with internal departments, as well as external payors as needed, to resolve billing concerns and improve workflow efficiencyCollect and maintain compliance-related documentation as neededCommunicate professionally, clearly, and thoroughly with clients, payers, and internal staff regarding billing mattersAlways maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliancePerform additional billing and administrative projects as assigned Qualifications Bilingual Spanish preferredMinimum of 2–3 years of billing, bookkeeping, healthcare billing, or related experience preferredExperience with Medicaid Waiver billing strongly preferredExperience with Sandata and DSSMaps systems is strongly preferredExperience in home care, healthcare, or service industry billing preferredFamiliarity with AxisCare software is a plusStrong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and QuickBooksExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional, dependable, and team-oriented attitudeAbility to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role Work Environment & Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday8:30 AM – 5:00 PMFully on-site in Shelton, CTPrimarily sedentary work involving extended periods at a computer Why Join CHS?
