Billing Specialist

Assist Ambulance is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of BLS and ALS emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. With a proud 30-year history, we provide emergency medical services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC, including Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations.

Responsibilities

• Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
• Review claims for accuracy and assist with follow-up
• Check insurance eligibility using online portals and boards

Requirements

• Must be available Monday–Friday from 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
• Insurance or billing experience is a plus (we provide training)
• Responsible and dependable
• Comfortable using computers and websites
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Analytical—collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data
• Easy-going, professional, and personable with strong customer service skills in high-stress situations
